Hands on in Brucker Moos

In June WaldCursor took part in renaturation of the Bucker Moos for the third time.

In June 2026 we and other volunteer helpers picked up the shovel and dug a 100-meter-long infiltration swale.  In future this swale will help leading water back to the peatlands. The sensitive swamp soil thanks for using hand and shovels and no heavy machines.

In July 2025, under the motto „Keeping an eye on biodiversity . monitoring in the peatland“ , we joined other volunteers helping the project team record plant and insect species on the drained peatland area. These data will help documenting the status of the project aerea and value the effects of renaturation in the long term.

In April 2025 we and other volunteers helped the team setting monitoring stations. Those stations will provide valuable data about the water level within the area to track succecces of the revitalization.

In the Brucker Moos in the district of Ebersberg a renaturation of a approximately 10h  peatland has started. Peatland do not only make a significant contribution to the preservation of biodiversity, but also are outstanding in their importance as climate protectors and CO2 sinks.

With WaldCursor we support this project hands on while shoveling as well as tracking it via a WaldCursor account to document ongoing progress.
